Yeah, it was a pretty good bike back in the late 80′s. The most important thing for is to look at the condition of the bike. Steel frames that have been neglected can be a problem, so check on a few things. Check the frame for rusting or pitting. If you see major areas of rust, skip it. Also, seatposts can sometimes get stuck in a rusty steel frame. Before you buy the bike, loosen the seatpost collar and make sure that the seatpost can move.

Also, check the drivetrain. Make sure all of the gearshifts go smoothly. Check for any broken or missing spokes on the wheels. Spin the wheels and look to see if the wheels are true (if they’re out of true, that means they’re warped and although fixable, can be a real hassle).
